Rosalynde F. Welch is a senior research fellow and associate director at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship at Brigham Young University. She holds a BA in English from BYU and a PhD in early modern English literature from the University of California San Diego. Welch is an independent scholar working in Latter-day Saint literature, culture, and theology. She is the author of numerous articles on Latter-day Saint theology and scripture. She is the author of Ether: A Brief Theological Introduction and the editor of the forthcoming Are We Not All Beggars? Reading Mosiah 4.

Maddie Tolk

Maddie is a content specialist for LDS Living. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Harvard and has published and edited content for the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, Macmillan Learning, HarvardX, Utah Valley University, and Adobe. Maddie enjoys reading, playing the violin and piano, and watching musicals.

Erin Amata

Erin Amata is a licensed clinical social worker for Development Counseling Services and has helped many individuals in both Utah and California with depression, anxiety, abuse, and neurodivergence. She currently lives in Utah with her husband and 4-year-old boy, where playtime is constant. Erin thrives when she can travel to warm places, spend quality time with loved ones, and be active in any way.

Jan J. Martin

Jan J. Martin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University. Her scholarship focuses on the Book of Mormon, New Testament, on sixteenth-century religious reformers and on early English Bibles. She spent nearly seven years living in England as she completed her PhD and loves all things British, including her husband Jared who she met and married while living in York. She loves to participate in a wide variety of sporting activities, enjoys playing the piano when she has time, and likes to explore the beautiful Utah mountains.

Reyna I. Aburto

Reyna Aburto was born in Nicaragua. She has been a member of the General Relief Society Presidency. She is a linguist, a public speaker, an author, and a cohost in the Consecrating Your Life podcast with her daughter Elena.

Brooke Walker

Brooke Walker is an Emmy award-winning journalist. She is the host of "Studio 5 with Brooke Walker" on KSL-TV, and "Parents in Progress" on BYUtv. Brooke attended Brigham Young University, where she studied Broadcast Communications. Prior to her time in lifestyle television, Brooke worked for the Public Affairs Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her family fills her schedule and fills her! Brooke’s most important and cherished titles are wife and mother. She and her husband, Marc, are the proud parents of Emme, Boston, Lucy and Penny.

Andrea Cabrera

Originally from Mexico, Andrea Cabrera is a passionate learner of people and a dedicated do-gooder. Her early years split between Mexico and Germany provided her with a unique perspective on the world and contributed significantly to her character.

David T. Warner

Dr. David T. Morgan

Dr. David T. Morgan is the author of Enduring the Refiner’s Fire: Emotional Resilience for Latter-day Trials and several other books that can be viewed here. His writings contain insights and solutions to apply gospel principles to emotional challenges.

Ellie Smith

Ellie Smith was an intern for LDS Living and is from Boise, Idaho, (that's BOY-see, not boy-ZEE) and graduated from BYU with a BA in English and a minor in editing. She is always down for an adventure and has traveled to England, Iceland, Italy, France, and Spain. As an aspiring chef, Ellie loves trying new recipes and visiting unique local eateries. At the end of the day she likes to settle down with a good book and a box of Ferrero Rocher.
