Joseph and Hyrum’s martyrdom made headlines all across the country—with most sources condemned the act as murder and a scandal.
The year 2016 has seen many exciting changes in the Church—from the dedication of the 150th temple to changes in missionary dress standards and the First Presidency commenting on the presidential election to major changes in temple and family history work.
In October, the Church released a transparent video explaining the sacred nature of temple garments by comparing them to religious clothing worn by people of other religions. The video generated a lot of public interest, drawing the attention of major news outlets such as the Washington Post and USA Today and becoming explosive on social media where it generated a lot of positive feedback.
What has been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned from the youth of the Church?
Throughout my service as a full-time missionary, I was blessed to serve closely with many people who touched my life in unique ways. Many of these individuals faced emotional struggles, like anxiety and depression. One of them was my own companion.

The following week, I was covering BYU Women’s Conference for work and, because I love sports, I wanted to attend Lee Anne Pope’s talk. I didn’t even notice until right before her talk that it was about being “all in.”
