The 2011 “All Africa Service Project” of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints (LDS) brought several Church members together to be part of clean-up exercises in various communities throughout the country and Africa at large. In Accra, among some of the places and communities where these exercises took place included the Korle-Bu Polyclinic, Mamprobi Polyclinic, and Usher Clinic at James Town, Tesano Total Filling Station to the Abeka Market, Alajo, Mamobi Polyclinic and the New Horizon School at Cantonments.

Bible Videos, announced last December at the First Presidency Christmas Devotional, are based on the King James Version of the Bible and were filmed on the Jerusalem set at the Church’s LDS Motion Picture Studio South Campus in Goshen, Utah. They are now available at biblevideos.lds.org, in Cantonese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Samoan, and Tongan, as well as the original release languages of English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

It was a simple act of service that Elder James Pickard, from Lindon, Utah, and Elder Jeffrey Kerr, from Mesa, Ariz., had planned, and it turned out to be a success not only in Harlem, N.Y., but also across social media channels. "We knew this time of year would bring a lot of opportunities to serve," Elder Pickard said. "We decided to get together and set up a few shoe-shining booths and a hot chocolate stand so that we could not only serve people of Harlem, but that we might also have a few minutes to teach people about Jesus Christ and the spirit of Christmas."
