The Middle East Africa North Area encompasses 20 countries, with Morocco on the west and Afghanistan on the east. In this vast geographical region stands just one building constructed by the Church solely as a meetinghouse for its members. That building is the newly completed Abu Dhabi Stake Center in the United Arab Emirates, which Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve dedicated on Feb. 22. Constructed of concrete masonry with a stucco finish, the stake center has approximately 14,000 square feet of space on three levels, said David McMillan, director for temporal affairs for the area. He said that one of the architectural features is a dome-shaped "steeple" in keeping with the local culture. Included in the building are a chapel, offices, classrooms and a small cultural hall.

Whether you are the one who came home early or it is your son or daughter or niece or nephew or grandchild, these are important things to remember.

Mainstream Mormonism is no cult, and Mitt Romney is more fit to be president for his work in the church. Growing up in New York, my family and best friend, John, visited the Mormon Pavilion at the World's Fair in 1965. My mother and John filled out a card to learn more, and before long, missionaries - classically attired in white shirt and tie - arrived at our door steps. My mother and I did not have much interest, but John soon began a journey completed by becoming a Mormon at the age of 17.
What a treasure! This copy, signed by Joseph Smith himself, is even older and more valuable than the 1842 edition that appeared on the History Channel's "Pawn Stars"show last year!

In this past general conference, President M. Russell Ballard encouraged that “Church members—both men and women—should not hesitate, if they desire, to run for public office at any level of government wherever they live.” He continued, “Our voices are essential today and important in our schools, our cities, and our countries” (“Precious Gifts from God,” general conference, April 2018). Here are eight LDS women in U.S. politics who have already dedicated their lives and their voices to making the world a better place.
A young man who shattered his face and tore up his body in a deadly car accident on his LDS mission is making a remarkable recovery.
