LDS rapper James the Mormon has used his social media presence and his music to share the gospel. Recently, he shared a video explaining why temples are sacred, saying, "temples are the closest we can come to our loving Heavenly Father where we can catch a glimpse of what heaven is truly like."
Thanks to the personal sacrifices of many great men and women, the King James Version of the Bible has endured for centuries and continues to have an immeasurable impact and influence on the world. Yet few know the full story of its origin.
ane James haunts me. Not in the way you’re thinking—I don’t see her ghostly specter on cold evenings, or hear her humming a tune in the other room as I’m trying to sleep. What I mean is that she just won’t let me go. Every time I learn something new about her, it seems that I go down a rabbit hole. It takes me days to return, mentally, to whatever I was doing. James, an African American woman who converted to Mormonism in the early 1840s, moved to Nauvoo after her conversion and worked as a servant in Joseph Smith’s home. After Smith’s death, she worked for Brigham Young. She was in one of the first companies to arrive in the Great Salt Lake Valley in 1847, and she remained a faithful Latter-day Saint until her death in 1908.

General Authority Seventy Elder Clark G. Gilbert still remembers the first time he received a testimony of the restored Church.
"Harriet draws people to her,” said Elder Andersen after Sister Uchtdorf received the German-American Friendship Award. “She has promoted German and American friendships, but in a much broader sense she has been an example of the Savior’s teachings for all of God’s children: Love one another as I have loved you.”
PROVO — Many scholars believe there's no such thing as perfect Bible translation, yet despite the flaws in the King James Version of the Bible, it remains the version treasured by much of the world, including members of the LDS Church. During a three-day symposium sponsored by BYU in honor of the KJV's 400th anniversary this year, scholars shared insights about the translation's connection with the LDS faith, its historical background, textual distinctions and literary influence. Robert Millet, a professor of ancient scripture in BYU's Religious Education Department, pointed out that because Mormons believe in an open canon, others often suggest that Mormons don't revere the Bible, or have even replaced it with their 'own Bible,' referring to the Book of Mormon.
