Let’s be honest. Sometimes, in the LDS culture, us gals without kids feel like we’re on Survivor: Mommy Island, right? We compete in challenges like diaper changing, freezer cooking, arts and crafts, removing crayon from walls, getting 4 kids ready for church and still looking like a million bucks and other challenges that we are just not equipped to deal with. Often times, we inexplicably vote ourselves off the island because we just CAN’T compete. So, I’m here to offer a few survival tips that have worked for me.

LifeSTAR, founded by Dan Gray and Todd Olson, has opened a new Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Murray, Utah, to help those addicted to pornography and sexual compulsive behaviors begin recovery. The IOP is a six-day workshop running once a month. It is designed to help jumpstart recovery and free participants from the harmful effects their addiction has brought on their marriages, families, jobs, and personal well-being. The program builds on concepts the clients can take with them as they continue a plan of counseling and aftercare.

Sitting in Sunday School a few weeks ago, we were talking about scripture study and how we needed to be reading with our families. While I’m sure that most of us could be doing better at this, it can be difficult to find motivation and creativity every day. This can easily lead to us skipping the reading and missing out on the spirit. These are a few ideas to help your scripture reading be a joy!
GRAMMY Nominated artist and America’s Violinist Jenny Oaks Baker is producing a nationwide tour of her new, inspiring Christmas show, “Joy to the World! A Sacred Celebration.” The performances will feature Jenny and her children as well as Irish soprano Alex Sharpe and narrator Jason F. Wright. The tour will launch on December 1 in St. George, UT and will visit nine additional cities, concluding on December 22 in Huntsville, AL.
