Strength of Youth Media 2012: Arise and Shine Forth is a collection of video and music resources centered on the 2012 mutual theme for young men and young women that will be available online in mid-December, with copies of DVDs sent to units in early 2012. The mutual theme—“Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations” (D&C 115:5)—comes from a revelation given through the Prophet Joseph Smith at Far West, Missouri, in 1838. It was addressed to the presiding officers of the Church at the time, but as the Mutual theme it applies to youth ages 12 to 18 throughout the Church.
As my mission is ending I have done so much reflecting on where I was eighteen months ago. Some days I’m super excited to take on the future as the new me and other days I’m terrified feeling like I haven’t changed at all. So this morning I decided to make a list of everything I’ve learned in eighteen months to remind myself that who I am is not who I was and for that I consider my mission a success.
