Over the past several years I have witnessed the dedication of several temples. I suspect that many of you have also. Our wonder and awe were renewed at what is happening in the world. When my oldest child was 4, he could name by sight every temple built in this dispensation, including the Nauvoo and Kirtland Temples. Now there are probably less than five people in the Church who could accomplish such a feat. I have a painting in my office that shows 55 temples in one frame! I think that painting included all the temples in the world when a junior in high school painted it to pay for his mission. And we are not done yet. Brigham Young expressed an interesting insight about this in a talk given many years ago.

Son #1 also gets a new Armani suit, and son #2 gets a loin cloth. You also give son #1 stock options in a successful company, and son #2 a piggy bank containing a few coins. For dinner, you give son #1 a turkey dinner and son #2 a turnip. What is wrong with the way you are treating your two sons? Turn to D&C 38: 26, 27.

INTRODUCTION: Nephi wrote of the Lord in his remarkable psalm of praise and awe, “He hath filled me with his love even unto the consuming of my flesh” (2 Nephi 4:21). Nephi had just written “O wretched man that I am” and “My heart sorroweth because of my flesh” (2 Nephi 4:17) and “my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities, and I am encompassed about because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me” (2 Nephi 4:18).
