INTRODUCTION: Nephi wrote of the Lord in his remarkable psalm of praise and awe, “He hath filled me with his love even unto the consuming of my flesh” (2 Nephi 4:21). Nephi had just written “O wretched man that I am” and “My heart sorroweth because of my flesh” (2 Nephi 4:17) and “my soul grieveth because of mine iniquities, and I am encompassed about because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me” (2 Nephi 4:18). But even so he was secure in the witness he had of the Lord’s improbable and immeasurable love. Paul wrote:

Our family recently enjoyed a memorable vacation to the eastern United States. The journey began in New York City with its bright lights, baseball and theatres. After a quick stop in Niagara Falls we set our sights on Church history.

A few weeks ago, I had one of those days. My husband was sick in bed with the flu. My teething baby spent the day clinging to my legs and biting into my shoulder. My 7-year-old son seemed to have cotton balls stuck in his ears, and my 5-year-old daughter was talking back to everything I said. Oh, and it was my birthday.

Ever since 1968 when Fred Rogers' television show first ran on the Eastern Educational Television Network, his character of "Mister Rogers" has reminded millions of children just how special they are.

While struggling through one of the darkest moments in her life, Amelia went to her room and opened the Book of Mormon, turning to Mosiah 24: 14: "And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions."

Melissa Campagnoni and her visiting teacher, Lorraine Barlow, are the closest of friends, but this was not always so. Building this relationship required time and sacrifice on the part of both and commitment and caring from a dedicated visiting teacher. Sister Barlow had known Sister Campagnoni for many years. During much of that time, Sister Campagnoni regularly attended church, and her two oldest children were baptized. Then she moved from the ward. Several years later the Barlow family relocated and they were again in the same ward. By this time Sister Campagnoni had become less active. Visiting teachers were assigned, but they were getting no response, and Sister Barlow was then asked to be her visiting teacher. Believing that her calling was to be a friend, Sister Barlow determined that she would help Sister Campagnoni know that she was not forgotten and that she was loved by her Heavenly Father. She would minister to Sister Campagnoni and to her family.

Life for a young married couple isn't always usually easy. School can be taxing, work can be draining, and the pressure of paying bills on top of it all can be simply overwhelming. But despite its struggles, the life of a young married couple is filled with the hope of one day having children. The creation of life is an extraordinary experience, unmatched in both its emotional significance and biological elegance.
