Gaylamarie Rosenberg and Denise Lindberg spoke to a women’s conference audience Friday, April 30, on how to strive for perfection without feeling guilty about being imperfect now.

Less than six hours before kickoff between the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, some players slept in while others ate breakfast and watched ESPN "SportsCenter." At least one player left the team hotel to drive home and change into a white shirt and tie.

The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd launches a salvo against Mitt Romney and his Mormon faith by cobbling together the usual jeers and criticisms from such Mormon experts as Bill Maher, Christopher Hitchens, and those angry with baptisms of the dead, particularly of Holocaust victims. She also includes Richard Bushman and a member of the BYU religion faculty. But her intention is clear: to roll out any claim that Mormonsim is weird, different, and an anyone who is a believer is unworthy of being taken seriously.

Sara and Doug Christensen have been married for nearly 32 years. They went to Junior High and High school together, but only dated after Sara returned from a mission to Portugal. Following a mission to Sweden, Doug earned a BA in English Literature and an MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Utah. In 2005 he returned to the U to pursue a degree in Rhetoric and Writing Studies. While pursuing his PhD he taught a variety of Writing classes and has had the good fortune to continue as an associate instructor in the Writing and Rhetoric Studies Department. He began teaching Seminary full time in 1992 and currently teaches at SLCC, Taylorsville Institute. Doug devotes any extra time to building furniture in his backyard shop and he writes regular book reviews for the Association of Mormon Letters. Sara and Doug enjoy traveling, making food, watching shows, working in the yard, hiking, and playing pickleball together; they enjoy all of the above with their children: Hannah (Brandon), Adelide (Chase), Henry (Kaylie), & Lillie Jane. But above all, they delight in the company of their granddaughters Edith (2) and Posy (6 mo).

Tara Hall was born in California, and even though she currently lives in Utah, she considers herself a Texan. In 2010, she graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in English, with an emphasis on Editing. After graduation, she somehow ended up in the insurance world. In 2017, she decided to go back to school to get a degree in one of her favorite things: genealogy! She balanced working full time and going to school, and eventually graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Family History Research, thanks to popcorn and Coke Zero. After taking a leap of faith, she left her job for a part time, temporary position at the Granite Mountain Record Vaults. She then was able to land her dream job at a large genealogy company and is loving every minute of it! In her “free time”, you will find her singing with Millennial Choirs and Orchestras, taking horseback riding lessons, spending time with her best friends (her family!), and cross stitching with her cat in her lap. She is currently accepting applications for travel companions so she can go to all the countries on her list! She loves England and Wales (Cymru am byth!) and is currently learning the Welsh language. She loves Jesus Christ and is so grateful for the gospel, especially temples and eternal families!

There are examples of compassion all around us, but some are more obvious than others. And while extenuating circumstances such as war and depravation don’t seem likely places to find charity, one couple in Cedar City, Utah, has found a way to serve and love amidst tragedy and trials. They call it The Happy Factory.

The cities of Spain have vivid histories filled with battling cultures, religious artwork, and impressive ruins covered in vines and sand. And while countless visitors come to experience Spain’s rich treasures and heritage, Church members in Spain know that their real treasures are the blessings of the gospel and that their true heritage comes from a divine source. Here are five things to know about the Church in this country.

More than a year ago, author Gerald N. Lund was preparing to speak at a fireside when organizers requested he set aside time to address a question that kept coming up in interviews and discussions.

When my son Greg was five years old, he approached me in the kitchen with his typical curiosity and asked, “Mommy, where does God live?” He had no idea how the question would change our lives. Without that question, I’m not sure I’d be writing a book, and certainly not one with a chapter on faith.
