My husband and I are infertility survivors. After learning that our mortal bodies were not able to create children, our hearts began to turn toward adoption. This decision came with serious prayer, contemplation, and faith. For me, there was even some healthy mourning for the dream of being able to physically carry and deliver a child.
There was never any question in my mind that I would serve a mission. The only question I had was, “Where will I serve?” I thought I knew the answer. My dad went on a mission to Germany. My older brother went on a mission to Germany. My sister’s boyfriend—and future husband—went on a mission to Germany. I thought I was going to Germany too. In fact, I planned on it.
An unprecedented, church-wide celebration on June 1, 2018, celebrating the revelation extending the priesthood to all worthy men in the Church, will feature not only messages from the First Presidency but also performances by the "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knights, Alex Boye, the Unity Gospel Choir International, members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and the Bonner family — an LDS family of 10 who previously worked as Baptist ministers in Africa before joining the Church.

Sister Jean B. Bingham, the Church’s Relief Society general president, was the keynote speaker at the fifth annual International Women-in-Diplomacy Day symposium. The event originated from Los Angeles and was held virtually this year because of the pandemic. The event was sponsored by the honorary consul of the Republic of Senegal.
