I gave away a Book of Mormon for the first time in between science and history when I was in eighth grade. I’d like to say I did this just because I wanted to, but it was actually a requirement for Personal Progress. I chose to give the book to Heidi, my kindest and most religious friend (she went to church and a youth group every week). The creators of the Personal Progress program must have intended for me to make this a memorable, edifying experience, but, instead, I wrote a few lines in the cover of the book and handed it to Heidi during our passing period. I didn’t explain anything about the book, just said a few awkward words and went on to class. It wasn’t that I didn’t care, it was simply that sharing the gospel seemed scary to me.
When Alex Boyé received a copy of the Book of Mormon from his ward mission leader along with a challenge to give the book away during the week, he never imagined fulfilling this duty could create national headlines.
At one point in his life, Garett Bolles was living on the street; his only possessions were those wrapped in a plastic garbage bag. But on Thursday night, Bolles became a multimillionaire when he was picked number 20 overall during the first round of the NFL draft by the Denver Broncos.
Last month Arizona State University President Michael Crow became the first non-Mormon to give a devotional address in Brigham Young University-Idaho’s 129-year history.
Sister Barbara Ballard passed away in her home on October 1, 2018. To celebrate the life of this wonderful woman who sacrificed so much for the Church and to build the Lord's kingdom on earth, we wanted to share some of these touching tributes President M. Russell Ballard shared about his wife over the pulpit and on social media.
We are blessed to be in a Church with such wonderful story tellers! What tender reminders of the joy of this season from our beloved prophets and Church leaders.
An estimated 68,000 people gathered in an NFL stadium on February 10—not to watch football players go head-to-head in an adrenaline-pumping game but to listen to a 94-year-old prophet of God speak. About this gathering, which is believed to be the largest Latter-day Saint gathering in Arizona's history, Arizona Central's BrieAnna J. Frank and Mackenzie Shuman wrote, "The leader of [T]he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday reminded a massive gathering of church members in Glendale to follow the covenants to unlock God's promises and reminded them about the important role that church members will play in preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ."

At 2 a.m. one cold December morning, Matt Zavoral was among the last students in BYU's Harold B. Lee Library in the wee hours before finals week began. That's when he had an epiphany—and it had nothing to do with his six impending finals.
