Christ is the solid foundation on which to build holy places. Without Him and His power, hard times are simply that—hard times. The best we can do is just hope to get through them. We will struggle and flail and long for their end, but we will not be enduring well, conquering the trials, or mastering ourselves. In order to turn our hard times into holy times, we must first rely on Jesus Christ.
An unprecedented, church-wide celebration on June 1, 2018, celebrating the revelation extending the priesthood to all worthy men in the Church, will feature not only messages from the First Presidency but also performances by the "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knights, Alex Boye, the Unity Gospel Choir International, members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and the Bonner family — an LDS family of 10 who previously worked as Baptist ministers in Africa before joining the Church.

"It is our hope that you will prayerfully determine what you can do—according to your own time and circumstances—to serve the refugees living in your neighborhoods and communities," Linda K. Burton, general Relief Society president, challenged the women of the Church during the first session of general conference Saturday. "This is an opportunity to serve one on one, in families and by organization, to offer friendship, mentoring, and other Christlike service, and is one of many ways sisters can serve."
