The Pago Pago American Samoa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomed members of the media and invited guests on Monday, November 2, 2026, ahead of its public open house, which begins Wednesday, November 4.
The temple, located in Tafuna, is the first Latter-day Saint temple in American Samoa. During the open house, visitors of all faiths will have an opportunity to see inside the temple before it is dedicated in December.
Elder K. Brett Nattress, General Authority Seventy and Assistant Executive Director of the Church’s Temple Department, welcomed journalists to the temple for a special preview. He was joined by Elder Jeremy R. Jaggi of the Pacific Area Presidency.
“The temple is the house of the Lord and is very sacred and special to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the most sacred place that we can go,” said Elder Nattress.
