From the Church

Watch Elder Bednar’s first Instagram Live and real-time Q&A

Elder David A. Bednar has been known to emphasize serving and loving others just as the Savior did: one by one. And Church members recently had a unique opportunity for a very personal live Q&A with Elder Bednar on Instagram as he himself ministered and answered questions, one by one.

In the Instagram video, Elder Bednar tackled the following questions, as submitted by viewers in real time:

  • How do I increase my faith in Jesus Christ?
  • What is the most meaningful thing you’ve learned as an Apostle?
  • What is your favorite scripture?
  • What is the best way to go about deciding career options?
  • What is the best advice you can give to someone about to go on a mission?
  • How can I be more obedient and diligent in my life?

Many of his answers centered around the theme of ministering to others individually.

“The Savior and His work is accomplished one by one,” Elder Bednar shared. “As you read and study and ponder in 3 Nephi where the Savior appeared to 2,500 people, … He invited them to come one by one; … each person individually had that opportunity. … I travel all over the world to fulfill a variety of different assignments, but it’s always about finding the one.”

One by One

In this book, Elder David A. Bednar offers a compelling look at a pattern the Lord uses to bless His people: He works with us on an individual basis, one by one. Demonstrating that pattern as it occurs throughout the scriptures, in the lives of many Church leaders, and in his own ministry, Elder Bednar invites us to open our hearts to the Lord's love. He also teaches that by ministering as the Savior does, one by one, we can be more powerful instruments in His hands to accomplish His purposes.
