"I was in a small airplane, and all of a sudden the engine on the wing caught fire," President Nelson says in a new Mormon Channel video called "Men's Hearts Shall Fail Them." "It exploded, and burning oil sprayed all over the right side of the airplane."

As the plane spun downward, President Nelson and everyone else on the plane thought they were headed toward death.

President Nelson shares how this experience taught him that faith, not fear, will get us through the turbulent times of life, but also that those who are fearful or heartbroken need not be discouraged. "To the individual who is weak in the heart, fearful in the heart, be patient with yourself. Perfection comes not in this life, but in the next life."
