What 12 young men learned about God from hiking 50 miles overnight

Today when you hear the word “theater,” you probably think of a dark room, enormous screens, and overflowing buckets of popcorn. But for some people, the theater still represents sweeping curtains, hours of rehearsal, and mic checks. That’s what it means for a small group of Latter-day Saints who are about to make their debut on Off-Broadway in New York this November with a new musical called An Enchanted April. “I don't think there has been a collection of members of the Church producing a musical like this for about 15 years,” writer and Latter-day Saint Elizabeth Hansen says. “The composer, our executive producer, our assistant musical director, our projection designer, our publicist, and two of our actors are also members. It's unique and quite remarkable.”

Henrique Souza Santos, a Social Media Marketing student from Sao Paulo, Brazil, had no idea what to expect when he stepped into his first-class on LDS Business College’s campus.

During the women’s session of general conference Saturday night, Young Women General President Sister Bonnie H. Cordon shared an updated version of the Young Women theme. It now reads:

President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his wife, Wendy — along with Elder D. Todd Christoffersonof the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Katherine — will travel to Asia in mid-November as the prophet continues his worldwide ministry. These global faith leaders will visit four countries in seven days, with trips to Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore and Indonesia, from November 15 to November 22, 2019.

Over a decade ago, author Jason Wright wrote a Christmas Book, Christmas Jars, that became a New York Times bestseller and sparked a national movement. Now, people all over the world have started their own Christmas jars traditions to help those in need. This year, the movement is getting a new chapter. Fans across the country can see the highly anticipated film Christmas Jars in theaters on November 4th in a special event presented by BYUtv.

“The ability to qualify for, receive, and act upon personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life” (Julie B. Beck, “And upon the Handmaids in Those Days will I Pour out my Spirit,” Ensign, May 2010), but between dirty diapers and fruit snacks, it often feels like an impossible feat.
