Throughout his service in the Church, President Nelson has provided profound insight into death, loss, and the life awaiting us in eternity. Here is a small portion of those insights, excerpted from the new book Teachings of Russell M. Nelson.

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn’t always easy—especially if you or a loved one identify as LGBTQ or experience same-sex attraction. The Church's official website, mormonandgay.lds.org, is a great place to start. In addition, here are four valuable resources for Latter-day Saints who are personally experiencing same-sex attraction, or for those who need help knowing how to support someone close to them who is. These books, written by gospel scholars and individuals who experience it personally, are meant to provide hope, help you move forward with faith, and help you understand God’s unconditional love for you as you figure out your individual path in the gospel with His help.

Latter-day Saint singer and songwriter Jennifer Manges recently released her new music video for her upcoming single, “I Am a Woman.” The inspiring lyrics testify of the beauty and importance of women in the world today.

Like many women around me, I decided to participate in the invitation President Nelson extended to the women of the Church to fast from social media for 10 days. He said, “I invite you to participate in a 10-day fast from social media and from any other media that bring negative and impure thoughts to your mind.” This was one of four invitations all under the overarching objective to “shape the future by helping to gather scattered Israel.” Here are three experiences I had during my 10-day fast that I hope you’ll find beneficial as you navigate your use of social media in the future.

Welcome back! We hope your 10-day social media fast was enlightening and spiritually fulfilling as you followed the words of our prophet, President Nelson, and avoided negative influences in your life and took note of the positive ones.

"It’s not unusual for parents and siblings and aunts and uncles, and grandparents to come and see a missionary off or to welcome them back," said Spencer Fluhman, director of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship at Brigham Young University. "It’s normal to come down the escalator from a secure area in the Salt Lake International airport, depending on the time of day and see hundreds of family members waiting to see their returning missionary son or daughter."
