MR says: From struggling for her life to learning to walk again, Kendal Levine's recovery has been a grueling one. But Levine still keeps hope and inspires others in her desire to keep serving the Lord.

One year ago she was in a coma -- half a world away -- and at the brink of death.

Today, a former LDS missionary from Utah, who was hit by a car, is talking about her miraculous recovery.

Twelve months ago, Kendal Levine had just reached her year mark serving in the Sydney South Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On Sept. 5, 2014, she got out of her car to take a picture. Or, so she's told. She doesn't remember that -- or what happened next. . . .

A car slammed into the 20-year-old missionary from Stansbury Park. Kendal suffered a traumatic brain injury.
