A sentence that beautifully describes what it feels like to repent

Brother Sean R. Dixon of the Young Men General Presidency and his wife, M’Shelle, recently posted a video on social media.

In the video, they spoke of their visit to a ward in Washington, Utah, where they’d attended a youth Sunday School class. The lesson was taught by two young men who had recently received their mission calls. One of them made a profound statement about visiting with his bishop and stake president while completing his mission papers.

He told the class:

“When I repented, I felt lighter. … I felt like myself again.”

“That young man understood what repentance through Jesus Christ is all about,” Brother Dixon says in the video. “It’s a joyful choice, and I hope that all the youth throughout the Church can come to understand that and have that same perspective.”
