The Savior’s sacrifice blesses us in infinite ways. Here are five examples of how from Tad R. Callister’s landmark book The Infinite Atonement.
1. Peace of Mind
“The atoning sacrifice of Christ, and our full acceptance of it, is the spiritual antidote that heals the wounded soul.”
2. Motivation
“The Atonement is much more than a divine remedy to correct our sins after they are committed. The Atonement is, in fact, the most powerful motivational force in the world to be good from day to day and, when necessary, to repent when we have fallen short.”
3. Exaltation
“The scriptures, poetic insight, logic, and history combine to teach with power and conviction that there are no ordinary people among God’s children, only potential gods and goddesses in our midst. The Atonement is the means of unleashing that divine potential.”
4. Freedom
“That is the essence of freedom, to know the Savior and obey His truths. As we do so, we become free from prejudice, falsehood, sin, contention, and every other injurious practice or evil nature known to man.”
5. Succor
“As a result of His mortal experience, culminating in the Atonement, the Savior knows, understands, and feels every human condition, every human woe, and every human loss. He can comfort as no other.”
