My wife, Lizzie, came home one day, giggling, and handed me a piece of paper, saying how much she loved the story on it. It read: “Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road. As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride. With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.

Elder LeGrand Richards responding to a question from Dr. Paul Cheesman, Director of Book of Mormon Studies at BYU's Religious Studies Center in the 1960’s said, “I heard Brother Callis once say that when Joseph Smith received the plates he got down on his knees before the Lord and said, “O God what will the world say?” And the voice of God came to him. “Fear not, I will cause the earth to testify the truth of these things.” (Taken from a letter from LeGrand Richards to Paul R. I told her I couldn’t relate to that type of mentality, when it comes to food, my philosophy is, “I breathe…therefore I eat!

When I walk through the Biblical sites of Jerusalem, I often think of the story told of Neal Armstrong when he toured Israel. The story is told by Meir Ben Dov, excavator of the Temple Mount and southern walls in Jerusalem.

Giving up on New Years' resolutions is common because most people don’t understand the purposes of New Year's resolutions! Many believe resolutions are made once and then lived perfectly thereafter. That is a formula for failure if I’ve ever heard one! A resolution is to resolve to do something then go at it with all our energy, recognizing we are apprentices and not the master. Apprentices are expected to have setbacks but as they continue trying eventually they master what they resolved to do.

Some critics argue that Biblical scholars have created the historical Jesus in their own image. A small number of scholars believe the gospel accounts are so mythical in nature that nothing, including the very existence of Jesus, can be determined from them.
