In 1847, a teenage Green Flake, as an enslaved person, was sent to trek 1,500 miles across the Western frontier to prepare a path for the pioneer trek of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nearly 13 years have passed since a plane crash left 80% of Stephanie Nielson’s body burned. Just one month ago, President Russell M. Nelson shared 20 new temples would be built in locations around the world. And on Saturday, May 1, President Nelson broke his tradition of announcing temples during general conference with the announcement of a temple in Ephraim, Utah.

During the April 2021 general conference, eight new General Authority Seventies and 77 new Area Seventies received calls. The 106 General Authority Seventies make up the First and Second Quorum of the Seventies, whereas the Area Seventies make up the other ten quorums.
