Now that general conference is over, it's important to internalize what we have learned, act on the messages and promptings we received, and recognize the blessings in our lives when they come. To help you do so, we’ve compiled a list of some of the promises and invitations from each October 2019 talk.

In order to remember some of the laughs and exciting moments we experienced this past weekend, Eric D. Richards recently created a video highlighting the funniest moments from this October 2019 general conference.

"Having the knowledge of all my own mother endured, and being a part of that legacy, is why I cried when I heard the announcement. It’s why my mom gasped out loud — sitting in the Conference Center and hearing the announcement in person — and was flooded with emotion."

On March 17, 1842, 20 women, ranging from teenagers to widows, and Joseph Smith gathered together on the second floor of a newly opened general store. They met with the intent to establish a women’s organization that would, among other things, look after the poor and teach moral reform. It was on that second floor where the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo began. That room in the Red Brick Store was also home to the newly created Nauvoo Masonic lodge and was where the first members of the Church received their endowment. From these events alone, this small, brick store serves as an important landmark in Latter-day Saint history.

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we have a plethora of resources to help us in times of need or struggle. The scriptures, prayer, words of modern-day prophets and apostles, Church leaders, family, temple worship, priesthood blessings, and, most importantly, Jesus Christ are all assets that provide divine assistance and strength.

DreamWorks presents a beautiful and sweet animated film that features a magical yeti who takes some new human friends on a journey to his home on Mount Everest. Originally, the movie was going to be called Everest. The abominable yeti looks like a mix between a fluffy, giant dog and a huggable bear. He hums to music, conveniently understands English, and has a few magical powers. In case you’re wondering if the yeti is a boy or a girl, the protagonist asked the same question. When the creature belched loudly, she said, “You’re definitely a boy.” He’s definitely cute enough that kids will want one to snuggle with, so merchandising looks pretty promising already.

Today when you hear the word “theater,” you probably think of a dark room, enormous screens, and overflowing buckets of popcorn. But for some people, the theater still represents sweeping curtains, hours of rehearsal, and mic checks. That’s what it means for a small group of Latter-day Saints who are about to make their debut on Off-Broadway in New York this November with a new musical called An Enchanted April. “I don't think there has been a collection of members of the Church producing a musical like this for about 15 years,” writer and Latter-day Saint Elizabeth Hansen says. “The composer, our executive producer, our assistant musical director, our projection designer, our publicist, and two of our actors are also members. It's unique and quite remarkable.”
