In May of this year, President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was named as a recipient of an honorary doctoral degree during an all-virtual commencement for the University of Utah. On Tuesday, June 15, thanks to the easing of local COVID-19 restrictions, university officials delivered the honorary degree citation and doctoral hood during an in-person visit in the Church Administration Building on Temple Square.
Latter-day Saint youth in the United States and Canada will be able to attend For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences again beginning in the summers of 2022 and 2023. The conferences, provided by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were postponed over the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the Hill Cumorah Pageant now in the past, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is engaging in a long-term project to preserve the historic and sacred nature of the area. The Hill Cumorah in Manchester, New York, is where Joseph Smith received visitations from the angel Moroni and retrieved the gold plates that contained the record now known as the Book of Mormon.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the locations of three temples announced in April 2021 by Church President Russell M. Nelson.
