Noelle Pikus-Pace to Release Inspirational New Book

Mormon Noelle Pikus-Pace has become a household name in the past several months, and with good reason. Silver medal winner in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, Pikus-Pace has attracted attention not only for her accomplishment, but also for her standards and incredible journey to the Olympics. Her path of perseverance, faith, and big dreams has now been recorded and will be released this September in an inspiring new book titled “Focused: Staying on Track, One Choice at a Time.”

Full of little-known facts about the skeleton racer (did you know she hates airports?), the book shares insights from Pikus-Pace on a variety of topics, including how to deal with consequences of decisions, stay focused on where we want to go, define our competition, and how to stand out and reach out to others.  She shares many personal stories from overcoming horrific injuries to dealing with self-doubt and pressures from the world (especially about modesty). And through it all she emphasizes the importance of her family support system when things got tough. Pikus-Pace sums up her life’s motto best in one of the final chapters of her book: “Let’s not focus on what’s below us. Let us not be afraid to fall but have faith to move forward. Let us reach out to, encourage, and uplift those around us. Stand tall, keep your head high, and have faith as you place one foot in front of the other.”

Pikus-Pace’s insightful stories make this book engaging and inspiring, and we are excited to see it appear in Deseret Book in early September 2014.
