In 2007 I was asked to start leading tours to China. I had been there once in 1995 and found the country to be on the move and extremely interesting. Never did I think my path would lead me back to directing tours and visiting the country now thirteen times. ...One of the cities that we visit is Xi’an. On one of the tours I was told that there was a woman in Xi’an who was from South Africa and had joined the church, then started an orphanage for medically challenged children. This was to become a place that we would visit often.
I’m convinced that every sister in the Church has a best friend in her ward or branch that she hasn’t made yet.

In the early years of the Church in the Salt Lake Valley, a "home missionary" program was started to help motivate the Saints, who were becoming increasingly apathetic in their faith. After attempts to persuade and plead with the members failed, Church leaders called "teachers" to visit homes to help stir members to repentance. Comedy group Studio C has delighted hundreds of people with their hilarious, clean humor. They've done sketches with popular Mormons like Shawn Bradley and young Lexi Walker, and Matt Meese, one of the lead cast members, even debuted in the newest Saints & Soldiers film last weekend. And yesterday during a rehearsal for their upcoming season, they got a surprise visit from President and Sister Uchtdorf--how fun!
To assist youth leaders and youth in finding fun and meaningful activities, the Church has launched a new youth activity website packed with more than 150 activities that work anywhere in the world. It is located at www.lds.org/youth/activities. Activities are an important part of the youth program in the Church. In addition to Sunday activities, LDS youth are invited to meet together on an additional night during the week to do activities together. “Many youth feel isolated in their efforts to live the gospel in an increasingly wicked world,” said Brother David L. Beck, Young Men general president. “When they gather for activities, they draw strength from one another.”
