The Church's Media Services team released the LDS Ensign and The Coat apps for iPad and Android tablets in December to experiment with a new platform for digital content, and now they’re looking for feedback on the LDS Ensign app in addition to future help on similar testing. The Ensign app is an interactive digital magazine, but it is much more than just a PDF of the Ensign that you can read on your tablet. The LDS Ensign app provides audio and video features that enhance your experience with the Ensign. You can read, watch, or listen to each talk, and there are biographies of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles at the end of the issue.
Pornography and sexual addictions come in all sorts of categories, severity, and genders. A lot of articles and resources for pornography addictions are directed specifically towards men. However, this article is for those LDS women who face pornography and sexual addictions every single day.
The creators of the play Book of Mormon have created the Amos and Andy for the South Park set. We may laugh, but our grandchildren will shudder as decent folk do at “wits” of the last century whose favorite dance was to “jump Jim Crow.”
Daniel Smith from Messages of Christ recently created a video explaining the symbolism of the Tabernacle of Moses using a detailed replica built by the Murrieta and Huntington Beach Stakes for their 2016 Tabernacle Youth Camp. This video demonstrates how each part of this sacred structure was designed to help others think of our Savior and God, and many similarities can be seen behind the Tabernacle of Moses and our temples today.
We were now 24 hours on the run, hold up in a hotel in Santa Fe, with all of our belongings. It’s humbling and frightening to see all that you might own stuffed into 4 rubbermaid bins, a few suit cases and every duffel bag you own.
In conjunction with the April 2013 general conference, the general Relief Society, Young Women, Young Men, Sunday School, and Primary presidencies will conduct training for stake and ward auxiliary leaders. The training is designed to help leaders learn their duties and to introduce resource materials that can be used for auxiliary leadership training. Stake, ward, and branch auxiliary presidencies are invited to participate in the training; however, they should not feel obligated to attend. Each organization will provide a session via webcast, allowing leaders to stay at home and receive the same information live or on demand.
Cars and trucks are not cheap. Just recently, my wife and I were hunting for a new vehicle, and we priced lots of cars. I suspect in each driveway and along the road in front of the homes, there were $30,000 to $60,000 worth of cars and trucks, lolling around gathering snow and ice. To me, that amount is a bunch of money.
By profession, I am a teacher. I teach choir to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Given all that happens in middle school, singing can be a challenge. You have changing voices (or, worse for some kids: unchanging voices), the pressure to look cool, shifting social landscapes, evolving relationships with members of the opposite sex, and on and on. All of these things can make singing extremely difficult.
Recently, Khalid Al Ameri created a video demonstrating what happens when a Muslim and a Latter-day Saint family came together to support one another in their faith.
In 2020, Latter-day Saint youth around the world will be studying 1 Nephi 3:7:
