Major renovations under way at Boise temple
The Boise LDS Temple closed in July when construction crews began demolition and renovations. The project includes new interior finishes, furnishings and remodeled bathrooms. The structure will be reinforced with shear walls, steel beams and floor joists. A mezzanine for maintenance use will be built. On the south side, a 5,000-foot basement addition for a grounds shop, maintenance area and broiler and chiller rooms will replace a maintenance shop and storage area. The fire sprinkler system also will be upgraded.

Western wildfires devastate; Church members unharmed
A deadly combination of intense summer heat and dry terrain has resulted in a massive outbreak of wildfires throughout the American West threatening land, homes and lives of people in the endangered areas. According to firewhat.com, each state in the Western region, with the exception of Washington and Oregon, is suffering from at least one wildfire, some with as many as nine fires burning within state boundaries.

Professional singer, BYU alumnus Nathan Pacheco to perform at BYU Spectacular
As a freshman at Brigham Young University, Nathan Pacheco attended a fireside and heard Elder Jeffrey R. Holland talk about the importance of pursuing and holding onto dreams — and then never giving up. The message resonated with the young man who had just auditioned for and had been accepted into the Men’s Chorus. The 33-year-old singer followed his dream and today performs as a professional vocalist who has traveled with Yanni, records with the Disney Pearl Series label and was featured in a PBS special called “Introducing Nathan Pacheco.”
