Not only does the Christmas season bring gifts, family, and lots of good food, but it usually brings colder weather and cozy days at home. Settle in with a cup of hot chocolate and one of these great Christmas novels, and truly appreciate the Christmas season.
In our busy lives, how do we make planning and participating in church activities a joy rather than a burden?
At Sister Ardeth Kapp’s 90th virtual birthday celebration, not one, but four rounds of Zoom calls were needed to give friends and family enough time to express their love and appreciation. All of those eager voices testify of the great influence Sister Kapp has had in the lives of so many.

In preparation for Easter, this week’s All In podcast is an interview with my dear friend, Latter-day Saint composer and arranger Rob Gardner, whose sacred music oratorio Lamb of God is performed by choirs and orchestras throughout the world each year. Rob sat down with me to discuss what he learned by studying and writing music about the last week of the Savior’s mortal ministry through the eyes of those who walked with Him—those who loved Him personally. In the episode, Rob shares what he felt as he attempted to write a song about Peter’s feeling after the denial and explains what he recently felt about the Savior’s question to Mary at the tomb, “Woman, why weepest thou?” Rob also talks about choosing the right song for the apostle Thomas and why he believes Thomas didn’t really doubt.
Often when we think of Mary, we think of the young woman willing to trust in God entirely and the mother willing to protect her infant son at all costs.
Did you know Rosie Marie Reid used her fashion popularity to raise funds for the Los Angeles California Temple? When the Church was building the Los Angeles California Temple, Rose Marie wanted to help as much as she could. She designed a beautiful one-piece white swimsuit that was covered in hand-sewn sequins. And which hands sewed most of that sequins on? Relief Society sisters that Rose Marie enlisted to help. All the proceeds of this particular swimsuit went directly to help build the Los Angeles California Temple in the 1950s.
Every year, Mitt Romney and his family spend a week at his estate on picturesque Lake Winnipesaukee. They go boating, play games — and attend church, an expression of the faith that’s fundamentally shaped the Republican presidential candidate. Romney, the first Mormon to clinch the presidential nomination of a major party, attended services Sunday with his wife, Ann, five sons, five daughters-in-law and 18 grandchildren. They made up nearly a third of the congregation that gathered inside the small, nondescript building that houses this tiny resort town’s branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Donny Osmond, his wife, Debbie, and sons Chris and Josh visited the historic Mormon sites in Nauvoo and Carthage, Ill., recently on their way home. In Carthage, the Osmond family stood in a dimly lit room in the Carthage Jail where Mormon prophet Joseph Smith was imprisoned.
