Apparently, the Nephites understood the social network concept.

Saints and Sinners run half marathon race to support future missionaries

Saints and Sinners will host its first annual half marathon Saturday Oct. 27, in Boulder City, Nev. Saints and Sinners is an organization that benefits youth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who require financial assistance to serve a mission. “This is the most meaningful cause you will run for all year long,” Heidi Parks, race director for Saints and Sinners, said. “This race is a whole new concept where we bring LDS runners from all over the United States together for a great cause. This is not an official Church race, but all the money will be donated directly to the LDS Church Missionary Fund.”

How LDS TV Commercials Introduced Me to Mormonism and Changed My Life

I remember growing up and watching LDS commercials on TV. The picture was soft and glowing and the contents often portrayed a happy family spending time together or a selfless service being performed. Then at the end, it would usually say, “From the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” I never understood why, but those short Mormon commercial spots always left me with a warm, happy feeling inside. Then I would look around my own home and wonder why my life was not more like an LDS commercial.

Happiness in the Face of Naysayers

I am constantly amazed, and consistently delighted, at the many many ways to find happiness in this world: making the basketball team, joining the choir, stitching a quilt, starting a charity, earning an award or an honest dollar…running, inventing, gardening, swimming, hiking, writing or simply just noticing everything and anything good, beautiful, funny.

Latter-day Saint brothers Zack and David Wilson teamed up with the Ellsworth Family Strings to create a moving rendition of "He Can Carry Me" by Robert Allen Elliot. About the song, the Wilsons share, "In our darkest hours and moments, through any trial we face, it is comforting to know the Savior is there to carry us through and supply the solace and healing we lack."

Melinda grew up in Utah and met her Army officer husband in high school. After three kids, three years of deployments, and eleven moves since commissioning into the Army, they still jam to 90's ballads in the car, are constantly on the lookout for the world's best pizza (the winner so far is Nonna's in Peekskill, NY), and are really glad when they get to be together as a family. She loves office supplies, has never met a road trip she didn't like, is an expert power napper, and organizes her pantry when she's stressed out. Her faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been an anchor through out her life and she is so very grateful for her testimony and the peace it brings to her life.

Susan Stanger

Susan is a full-time working mom and a full-time lover of people, especially her people, which includes three amazing daughters, one talented son, one clever husband, one adorable dog Nigel, and many hilarious friends! Her latest life motto hangs in her kitchen: “Love is always the answer,” and this rings true to her, as her mother had always told her while growing up in Holladay Utah, to be kind. Susan loves to read, eat sushi, go for walks and listen to music while cooking a delicious breakfast. Susan loves to travel! From the shores of Norway with her family, the towns of Slovenia with work colleagues, and even to the city of Atlanta with her Bible Study Besties! Susan loves the Lord and studying the scriptures.
