Every Christmas, we celebrate the first gift of the Holiday. That gift did not come from the shepherds, the Wise Men, or the innkeeper. The first gift of Christmas came from Heavenly Father, who gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to the world. Heavenly Father gave this gift to us because He loves us and desires our happiness. We encourage everyone to watch and share this inspiring message about the first gift of Christmas.
Elder Ballard said, the Light of Christ “is in each one of you. It came from the premortal world. Let it shine through your eyes, your words, your expressions of love and appreciation to your friends, ward members, or anyone who might be struggling, so they feel the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ through you.”

Many of this year's Come, Follow Me lessons could be considered history lessons as much as they are teachings of gospel principles. This week's lesson on the founding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 1830, is no exception.
Several years ago we spent the Christmas holidays skiing at a cabin. That was a really good idea for the first two days, but by the end of the third day I could no longer walk, so I ended up lounging in my (very cute) pajamas. Later that evening I agreed to go to the store because my kids decided they didn’t want what had been prepared for dinner, but I really didn’t want to change. My sisters-in-law were sitting at the kitchen table and I asked them, “Do you think it would be a big deal if I wore my pajamas to the grocery store?” Their reply? “No, you will be there for five minutes; no one will even notice what you are wearing.”
