When LDS doctors Greggory R. DeVore and Doug Pratt Pharm D decided to advertise their new, multi-hour slow-dissolve breath mint (ForeverMints) in LDS publications, they only expected a few hundred orders. They were hoping to use the ad as a systems "beta" test -- that is to work the bugs out of their computerized order and shipping system before their marketing went national.
Freetown, like director Garrett Batty’s previous film, The Saratov Approach, will sufficiently terrify all mothers wanting to send their kids on a mission. It’s by no means a perfect film. It’s not even a great film. But it definitely is a good film, and an ambitious one at that, with beautiful scenes and a rather engaging story. The very fact that a small band of Utah filmmakers pulled off shooting a feature narrative in Africa, while also trying to tackle difficult subject matters that many of us would rather not face, is quite remarkable and worth the watch. Truth be told, it’s also the first time I’ve ever watched a film and had to google the words “cognitive dissonance.”

At this wonderful general conference time, it is our privilege to bring together senior leaders of the Church from around the world to provide instruction and to unify our effort to bring God’s children closer to the gospel of Jesus Christ. This morning in a leadership session the First Presidency provided instruction on several important topics. We are pleased to share with our members and friends some very positive messages from that meeting.

Like many of us I’m intrigued by symbols—perhaps because I’m active in a church that honors symbolism, or maybe because of a poet heart or that I like to think about things deeply, especially things that make me feel deeply. Most likely it has something to do with all of the above working in collaboration to teach me, or at least remind me of, what is significant.
It's rather ironic that critics reviewing a movie all about the power and strength of forgiveness seem to be completely unforgiving themselves. Or even blatantly hostile.

Much like the moments before a live television broadcast, the success of an in-the-moment prayer largely depends on our preparation. If we've done our part, when we say, “Here we go,” the Holy Ghost can say, “Here I come.”
No matter the reason, almost everyone carries some amount of debt in their lifetime. For some people, debt is approached with careful planning, while for others, debt can accumulate faster than expected. The good news is that no matter how much debt you have, paying off your credit card can be manageable with the right strategy.
