There is a saying that has gone around for years: “If you want something to get done, give it to a busy person.” I believe that saying to be true, but I also think that saying is cruel. It assumes that since a person is working hard, being responsible, and accomplishing many things, that they can easily handle “just one more thing.” But as the world continues to heap more and more on people's shoulders, it's going to get harder and harder for busy people to cope with the excessive demands.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has approved the phased reopening of Church historic sites in May 2021. These sites closed last spring due to COVID-19.

First-time visitors to churches across the country say churches with 300 to 500 attendees perform the best when it comes to first impressions, according to a recent report. Their experiences at mega churches and smaller-sized congregations weren't quite as enjoyable. Faith Perceptions partnered with church leaders and sent out "mystery guests" to rate their first-time visits at churches varying in size from dozens of members to over a thousand. They found that "large" churches – with average weekly attendance of 300-500 – ranked "best in category" in nine out of 15 areas.

When tragedy hits, it is human nature to want to help. We bring food; we do laundry; we offer childcare. We want to connect! Some people do this through service; others do it through commiseration. We often feel the need to relate to the person suffering by sharing our own experiences.

Wedding buzz is certainly in the air (actually, mostly in my Facebook feed and on my refrigerator). But it got me thinking. What does the average Mormon spend on a wedding? Legend has it that Mormon weddings are a lot cheaper than the average spent on other weddings. Let’s be honest. We Mormons pride ourselves on our frugality. And what’s wrong with that? Our wedding days are often much cheaper for many LDS reasons: the temple is free, church buildings charge next to nothing for their cleaning fee, friends decorate the cultural hall free of charge—the list goes on.
