The dating game within the Mormon culture can seem a bit broken at times. The guy is supposed to ask the girl, but the guy doesn’t ask at all. The girl is supposed to remain calm and unassuming when asked, but the girl is so rarely asked that she automatically jumps to the conclusion that the guy must REALLY be interested. Which in turn keeps the guy from asking out any other girl for fear that by doing so his simple invitation to get ice cream will be misinterpreted as a marriage proposal. Its a vicious cycle that can be easily avoided by understanding the 5 Stages of Dating. Yes. Five. Can you guess what they are?
After Mitt Romney's meeting with President-elect Donald Trump last weekend,The Washington Post voiced their opinion about the possibility of Mitt Romney becoming the next secretary of state.
MR says: How might you be opening someone's heart to the message of the restored gospel without even realizing it?
Across the street from Tiffany and other luxury stores at the City Creek Center, the Salt Lake Temple stands as a symbol of the commercial investment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The mall, which opened a little more than a year ago, is the centerpiece of a mixed-use development that was financed entirely by the church, which spent, by any estimate, hundreds of millions of dollars. Although the combination of commerce and religion in this case may seem unusual, business leaders and developers credit the mall with spurring new business and enlivening what had been the faded core of Salt Lake City, home to 189, 900.
People across the world are suffering from persecution. "And why are they suffering?" John Graz said. "Are they dangerous for their country? Are they bad people? No, most of the time they are good people. But they are suffering, they are discriminated against, they are excluded only because of their religion." Graz is the public affairs and religious liberty director for the Seventh-day Adventist world church and is secretary general for the International Religious Liberty Association (IRLA). He carries the message of religious freedom across the world — speaking in conferences and with politicians, religious leaders and scholars. He spoke recently at BYU at the 22nd annual conference of the LDS International Society about the global challenges and trends affecting religious freedom.
Quentin L. Cook serves as an apostle in the Quorum of the Twelve for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But did you know that the London blitz started the day before he was born, and that his mother named him after the radio announcer who was broadcasting the event? (General Conference talk “Let There Be Light!”). Years later, Quentin served with his mission companion, Jeffrey R. Holland, in the very areas that had been bombed when he was an infant (Liahona article “Elder Quentin L. Cook: A Willing Heart and Mind”). In this biography of Quentin L. Cook, read about his life, family, and love for others.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has, when you think about it, been a remarkably good sport when it comes to "The Book of Mormon." As that money-spinning, massively irreverent musical lampooning the Mormon religion and many of its sacred tenets enters its final weeks in Chicago, there have been no LDS pickets outside the Bank of America Theatre, no attempts to organize a boycott, no statements of condemnation nor claims of religious persecution. History shows that other religions satirized by the creators of "South Park" have not always been so generous. But the LDS church even took out an advertisement in the Playbill for the Chicago production. "You've seen the show," the text reads, accompanying a photograph of a hip and attractive young woman, "now read the book."

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is making adjustments to the way its 405 missions are organized, to better utilize the skills and abilities of all missionaries in training and leadership. The change is due in part to the influx of thousands of young missionaries who are responding to the lowering of age requirements for mission service, announced by Church President Thomas S. Monson last October. Each mission in the Church will organize a Mission Leadership Council that will include both elder (males) and sister (females) missionary leaders. The new mission leadership council will consist of the mission president and his wife, assistants to the president, zone leaders, and sister training leaders — a newly created role.
