In Hebrew, Eden means delightful, luxurious, or dainty. But that does not mean there wasn’t conflict and opposition in Adam and Eve’s first home. We are studying the Fall found in Genesis 3–4 and Moses 4–5 with specific attention to how an understanding of the Hebrew words can shed new light on an age old story.

Translations:
Eden = luxurious, delightful, dainty (Hebrew)
Paradise - pardes = orchard or garden, the root of paradise, like Eden (Hebrew)
Ha Adam = the human, the man (Hebrew)
Helpmeet - ezer kenegdo = a suitable helping savior (Hebrew)
Segment 3

Genesis 3:1 (The serpent)
Moses 4:1 (Satan’s identity)
Moses 4:3-12 (Satan subtly tempting Adam and Eve)
Genesis 3:1-5 (The way Satan sews discord)

Translations:
Subtle - arum = craft, shrewd, sensible (Hebrew)
Yea - an af = intensifier, like *really*, indeed, also; often translated as yea in King James (Hebrew)

Naked - arum = naked, laid bare (Hebrew)
