The Old Testament is a truly ancient set of writings, full of intriguing stories, complex characters, and holy truths. As we begin a new year of Come, Follow Me, here are five Old Testament verses to help spark your excitement about learning from this sacred text.

1. Christ will guide us along

“For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
Isaiah 41:3

2. We can find stillness

“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
Exodus 14:14

3. God’s timing is perfect

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

4. Christ sees us for who we are

“For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7

5. We don’t know everything, but Christ does

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
