Almost every missionary knows what it’s like to knock on a stranger’s door, share a scripture, and give away a Book of Mormon. What missionaries almost never get to see is the stranger’s reaction after the door closes.
Well, in TikTok user @demiandtom’s viral video, we get a glimpse of one couple’s hilariously confused reaction right after two Latter-day Saint missionaries had left their doorstep.
Missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share the restored gospel with everyone that they can. Since the Book of Mormon is a big part of their message, they often give away copies. While the missionaries in this scenario likely did not tell Tom that he was obligated to become a member of the Church after taking the Book of Mormon, the misunderstanding is quite funny.
At the beginning of the video, Tom hesitantly holds a copy of the Book of Mormon and says to Demi, his wife, “I think we’re Mormon now.” Demi’s caption reads, “POV: Husband can’t say no.”
Note: In the video, Tom uses the term Mormon to refer to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
