Brother Wilcox was more than a little excited about this opportunity.

A recent video Brother Brad Wilcox posted to his Instagram shows that Church leaders sometimes like to have a little fun around the office, too. Day 10 of the Light the World initiative invited participants to “Find a Christmas concert, play, or other event in your area, and invite someone to attend with you.” In response to that prompt, Brother Wilcox of the Young Men General Presidency shared a video of him and professional actor and singer Dallyn Vail Bayles singing a verse from “High on the Mountain Top,” amid big smiles and laughter.

“This a duet I’ll never forget,” Brother Wilcox wrote on his Instagram.

President Steven J. Lund, also of the Young Men General Presidency, shared a video of a short interview with Bayles. President Lund asked Bayles what advice he would give the young men of the Church about finding success in life.

“Honestly, spiritual speaking, [what] I’ve held to the most is to always live worthy of the guidance of the Spirit,” Bayles said.

Among other accomplishments, Bayles has performed with the Broadway touring company of The Phantom of the Opera, understudying and performing the roles of Phantom and Raoul. He played Enjolras on the Broadway tour of Les Misérables. He also portrays Hyrum Smith in the Church-produced movies Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration and Emma Smith: My Story.

Bayles joined the Tabernacle Choir in 2012 to perform at President Thomas S. Monson’s 85th birthday celebration. Get a taste of his talent with a video from that night in the player below.
