Last year, over 200 young women from a stake in rural Idaho created a song together. What started as a brainstorming session during a Young Women camp devotional developed into a spiritual anthem of unity, faith, and divine worth.

More than a campfire sing-along, the experience solidified the participants’ confidence as disciples of Jesus Christ and testimonies of His role in their lives. The final song, “I Am Enough,” was released this summer as a professionally produced music video.

The Message Behind the Music

Inspired by the Church’s 2024 youth theme, “I am a disciple of Christ,” the Youth Camp Leaders (YCLs) decided to select affirmations to prepare for the stake Young Women camp. They chose identity statements like “I am worthy,” “I am valiant,” and “I am cherished.”

“We chose the theme ‘I am cherished’ because we wanted girls everywhere to know that their Heavenly Father loves them,” said Claire Driscoll from the River View Ward. “It doesn’t matter what they do in their lives and what happens with the trials that they go through, … He’s always going to care for them. And He wants them to come home to Him.”

In addition to designing T-shirts and flags with these affirmations, the YCLs invited James Stevens—a professional composer and the brother of their Stake Young Women President, Nicole Hillman—to speak as a guest at their camp devotional. He helped them create a brand-new song encapsulating their testimonies and spiritual insights from the Young Women camp.

A Co-Writing Session at Camp

During the devotional, James led the group in brainstorming lyrics based on the spiritual impressions they received during the camp. “[It was] the largest co-written song I’ve ever done,” James said.

A lyric that made it into the final song and resonated with many of the young women was “He is love times infinity.”

“I remember our YCLs talking about how Jesus is love, but He’s more than just love; He’s beyond love,” explains Kamri Wilding of the River View Ward. “And the first thing that came to my mind is just ‘love times infinity.’ Jesus is love times infinity. He is more love than you could ever imagine.”

Seeing Themselves in the Song

A few weeks after the camp, James worked with a team of musicians and a videographer to record the song and film a music video featuring the young women. The project involved countless volunteers, including school leaders, local farmers, and parents who helped arrange filming locations and wardrobe adjustments.

This summer, the young women debuted the final video at the Stake Young Women Camp Kickoff. “They saw themselves in the story, not just visually, but spiritually,” shared Stake Young Women President Nicole Hillman.

“It’s really been a comfort to me knowing that I am enough and that my Heavenly Father loves me for how I am,” said Olivia Christensen from the Goshen Ward.
