In November 2017, Elder M. Russell Ballard said, "We need to listen to and understand what our LGBT brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home where their brothers and sisters love them and where they have a place to worship and serve the Lord."

In a recent video by Lisa Scott, LGBTQ members, allies, and a former bishop answer this call from Elder Ballard by sharing ways we can better listen and understand our LGBTQ brothers and sisters and make them feel at home in the gospel.
"What I always tell my friends who are LGBT members of the Church is if they want to come to church, there's room for them on the pew next to me," Ben Schilaty says.
