We all feel inadequate. Pres. Freeman teaches what Christ would have us do next

When award-winning journalist Jane Clayson Johnson was in the depths of clinical depression, she didn’t want to talk about it. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed and living her life under the public eye, she wondered what people would think if she revealed her emotional state. But as she started to come out of that and began talking with other people, she began to realize how many people had a similar experience as her.

In 1974, President Spencer W. Kimball said, “The Lord is anxious to put into our hands inventions of which we laymen have hardly had a glimpse.” This week in a podcast with Church News, Elder Quentin L. Cook said of new technologies, we now have to “learn how to use them and we’ve got to use them so they’ll bless people.” Elder Cook believes recognizing the potential uses of technology was just one blessing that has come out of a very difficult time over the last year.

Serving a full-time mission as a young adult is a one-of-a-kind, life-changing opportunity—and so is joining the Church. And a few filmmakers are hoping to help people connect with those transformative experiences with a series they call Mission Stories.
