Why I’m so grateful someone pushed through awkwardness to serve

After meeting with President Nelson, Elder Holland, and Sister Eubank, chairman of AMAR International Baroness Emma Harriet Nicholson tweeted it was a "special day" for the organization and a "pleasure and honour" to meet with Church leaders.

As a professional matchmaker, I have been privileged to hear thousands of heartbreaking, beautiful, and amazing dating stories from singles in the 31–45 age range, otherwise known as mid-singles. Some are divorced, others widowed, and many have not yet been married.

LDS couple Scott and Ryceejo Shattuck recently teamed up with another husband and wife duo, Reilly and McKenzie Zamber, to create a Disney mashup of epic proportions. Though the couples live in different states and never performed in the same room together, through "countless messages, video chats, calls, and file-shares," according to Scott, they were able to combine Coco's Academy Award-winning "Remember Me" with Tarzan's Academy Award-winning "You'll Be in My Heart." For several years now, we have collected hundreds of personal stories from young adults in the Church telling us how they were taught about sexuality. We are particularly intrigued by how frequently we are told by young people that their parents and Church leaders used object lessons to teach them about the law of chastity. Much can be learned from understanding the metaphors and messages that are intentionally—and unintentionally—expressed in these types of lessons.

Sometimes it can be difficult visualizing and understanding sections of the Old Testament, especially when we lack cultural or historical context. Many of us have read about Solomon's temple and understand its importance, but sometimes it is difficult for us to understand exactly why that is or how the temple functioned. In this video by Daniel Smith from Messages of Christ, he explains the symbolism, history, and location of Solomon's temple, something which sheds light on our current temples today.

Knowing that the ordained patriarchs in the Church are inspired of God, there are only three reasons why the promises in someone’s blessing would not be fulfilled.

Without a doubt, what makes The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so unique are the members. And as the Church continues to grow, new converts only add to the diversity of the Church with their unique perspectives and experiences.
