Why I’m so grateful someone pushed through awkwardness to serve

It's not always as easy as we would like to accept someone different than ourselves. But we shouldn't just accept these differences, we should embrace them.

"I don't go to church because I got nothing better to do on Sundays; I really believe it!" Killers star Brandon Flowers told CBS News. "I don't know what my life would be like without it. I think I would have been a casualty of rock 'n' roll."

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland is known for his talks and the powerful principles and crisp, undeniable doctrine.

"This is the very same training our church has used for years for our own members with good results," Elder Gerard said about a historic initiative that will be based on the Church's global reliance program. "We will work in harmony and learn from each other to significantly increase opportunity among our brothers and sisters whom we identify and invite together at the local level."

One of a handful of pageants sponsored by the Church, the Castle Valley Pageant is based on true stories of pioneers who were called by Brigham Young to settle the Castle Valley area. And like its sister pageants, it inspires crowds of people every time it runs, just like it’s creator, Montell Seely, dreamed it would. One of our sons and I were assigned as home teaching companions. Together we taught a number of families, including a divorced sister with three young daughters. Over time we developed a close and trusting relationship with the woman and her children. We appreciated the opportunities we had to serve them spiritually and temporally.
