Mable Firstap was driving between Ohio and Pennsylvania when she spotted three clean-cut men walking on the side of the road.“They just had a glow about them, so I didn’t mind stopping to see if they needed help,” said Firstap. “When I did, I saw that they were each carrying a Book of Mormon.”

Now is an era of fascination with polygamy in American culture. This arguably started with the notorious HBO series Big Love; currently several reality shows depict polygamy, like Sister Wives and, more recently, My Five Wives. If America weren't oddly fascinated with it, these shows wouldn't keep getting picked up. (Aside from popular culture, polygamy is also in the news. Just a week ago, Federal Judge Clark Waddoups of Utah ruled part of Utah's polygamy law unconstitutional.)

We all want to be good member missionaries, and usually we can answer questions about our religion without too much difficulty. But occasionally a particularly difficult question comes up. Thankfully, the Church is providing valuable resources and very recently released new topic pages to help with these challenging questions at the "Gospel Topics" section of LDS.org.

Last year my toddler’s chubby hands reached out to hang his first ornament ever. I stood on the sidelines with a camera, ready to shoot what was sure to be a memorable picture of him and his dad at the Christmas tree.

General Conference is one of my favorite times of the year. The season is changing, and along with these beautiful changes, we get to hear from our prophets. I'm hard-pressed to think of another time during the year that I feel more reinvigorated and energized to press forward.

The earth could use a little relief. And every year around Earth Day - April 22, this year - we really think about what that means. Like many other corporations (and the Church itself), we at LDS Living make efforts to reduce our "footprint"; but we also know there are many more, individual things each of us around the world can do to lessen our impact on the earth. After all, as Henry David Thoreau said, “What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?”

Once upon a time, early in my marriage, my mother-in-law bought us some groceries. She got us nice things we would probably never have bought for ourselves - steak, real orange juice, C&H Baker's Sugar, etc. Among the items was a bag of Guittard green mint chips. I love mint, but I had no idea what to do with them. Luckily, there was a recipe on the bag for "Polka Dot Cookies."

My family takes pumpkin pie seriously. Since childhood I can remember no less than 10 pumpkin pies each year (and that's a conservatively low number). We eat it for breakfast starting the day before Thanksgiving, and eat it throughout the day (usually while making more pumpkin pie).
