“This guide will help youth walk in confidence, rely on His power, and move forward with hope in a challenging world.”
As the aunt of 10 nieces and nephews, I love to watch my brother and sisters raise their kids. Among the grandchildren in my family, we’ve got two daredevils, two wild-childs, one bossy pants, and the sweetest autistic boy you’ll ever meet. Needless to say, wrangling—I mean, parenting—these kids is never the same for my brother and sisters. So when the children near the age of eight, how do they—and parents everywhere—decide on the best way to teach their child about the importance of baptism? And how much does the child actually understand?
What started out as a quick trip to the ophthalmologist for 5-year-old Jaylie Nielson ended in her being rushed to the emergency room for diagnosis of a possible tumor. If America weren't oddly fascinated with it, these shows wouldn't keep getting picked up. (Aside from popular culture, polygamy is also in the news. Just a week ago, Federal Judge Clark Waddoups of Utah ruled part of Utah's polygamy law unconstitutional.)
Nearly four years to the day after suffering his fourth season-ending injury as the quarterback for Brigham Young University, Taysom Hill took the field Sunday as the starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints. It was a start many thought would never happen, but Hill not only started the game, he finished with 18 completions for 233 yards passing on 23 attempts and 51 yards rushing. The quarterback who is known for his ability to scramble also scored two rushing touchdowns in the Saints’ 24-9 win over the Atlanta Falcons. But when the game was over and the media interviews were completed, Hill was quick to acknowledge the many prayers that had been offered for his well-being and success leading up to the game.
April showers bring temple groundbreakings. And groundbreakings bring exciting new temples and blessings for local Latter-day Saints.
