President Russell M. Nelson put Latter-day Saints around the world on notice in October that the April 2020 general conference “will be different from any previous conference” because it “will commemorate the very foundations of the restored gospel.” Spring 2020 marks 200 years since Joseph Smith’s inaugural vision of the Father and the Son, known by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the First Vision.
When a family member or friend leaves the Church, it can be a very heart-wrenching experience. The heart of the fathers will turn to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers. The spirit of Elijah is promised in every one of the standard works. Who are we remembering when our hearts are turned to those who came before us? Our study of 3 Nephi 20–26 will give an idea, and teach how the House of Israel can further our understanding of this sacred promise.
