LDS 12-year-old Jude Stamper was drafted by the Michigan basketball team with Team IMPACT earlier this season. Though born with a joint disorder called arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, he is now heading to the Final Four with his team. “They have embraced him. Coach Beilein absolutely loves him and he tells him that. He tells him he is a light in their lives,” said his mom, Courtney Stamper. “They have fully opened their doors not only to Jude, but our family.”

As general conference approaches, and with it the anticipation of sustaining a new prophet, we thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane and see how much you remember or know about prophets of this dispensation. I’ve always heard that serving others is the best way to change ourselves. I grew up in a service-oriented home. There are stories beyond stories of times members of my family served those around them. And more often than not, it’s the simple things.

It was easy to go to sacrament meeting, look around at the congregation, and pick out the families that had it all together. The parents were always dressed to the nines in their Sunday best. They would never have a child who didn’t show up to church, never have a son skip Sunday school, or a daughter who threatened to run away.

For eight days, 155 missionaries huddled together in an LDS meetinghouse concerned only with survival after Hurricane Maria ripped through Puerto Rico. But all of the missionaries were together and prepared, thanks to the inspiration President David H. Smart and his wife, Sister Brenda Smart, received.
