The angel Moroni statue that sits atop the Nauvoo Temple was replaced on Tuesday due to damage from a lightning strike that had occurred during the summer, according to a report from KSL. Just after playing 60 minutes of competitive football, Liberty and Brigham Young University players met at midfield to shake hands and share congratulations with one another. However, instead of speaking quickly and heading towards their separate locker rooms, players went to the ground, together, taking a knee to pray. BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake said of the moment, “It was nice to share the field and then have a word of prayer in the middle of the field with them. I thought that was really special, having two teams that are based on Christian values and everything—I thought it was really cool.”
