A few weeks ago, a brother stood at the pulpit in my ward in Arkansas and humbly shared his testimony. He spoke about his journey toward faith, his struggles with doubt, and his hope to keep moving forward. A feeling of love and gratitude arose from the congregation because many of us had gone through similar experiences.

Community, civic, and faith leaders gathered at the Utah State Capitol Monday to announce a public-private effort to fund a suicide prevention and awareness campaign.

Where did we come from? Why are we here on earth? And where do we go after we die? Many members of the Church hear these questions and begin drawing diagrams or rattling off scriptures and memorized missionary discussions. But how often do we stop to think about how miraculous it is we know the answer to these questions?

During the early years of my marriage, I was often overcome with feelings of disappointment that my relationship with my husband wasn’t very strong. In fact, as time continued, I grew apprehensive whenever we had to be together for any length of time. I wasn’t enjoying life, my children, or my marriage. It seemed to be all work and no fun.

I remember when a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles brought me to tears. He shed a few tears with me.

"In the Church, we rightly talk a lot about the priesthood, or God’s power on the earth. From conversations I’ve had with women and men over the years, there are some things we get wrong when it comes to understanding God’s power and who has access to it," Sister Sharon Eubank, first counselor in the general Relief Society presidency, recently shared on Facebook. "All men and women who make covenants and keep them have the ability to draw priesthood power into their lives. The real question isn’t 'Do you have the priesthood?' but 'What are you doing with the priesthood power you have?' The essential nature of priesthood power is to bless and improve the lives of others."
